Founded in 2026, The Eastern Aquatic Society was established to bring together individuals who share a passion for aquatic life, responsible fishkeeping, conservation, education, and community.
We recognize that the aquarium hobby is more than the keeping of fish and aquatic plants. It's an opportunity to inspire curiosity, promote lifelong learning, encourage environmental stewardship, and foster meaningful relationships among people of all ages and experience levels.
The Eastern Aquatic Society exists to promote the enjoyment, education, conservation, and responsible stewardship of aquatic life and aquatic ecosystems through learning, fellowship, and community engagement. We encourage responsible aquarium keeping by creating opportunities for education, mentorship, collaboration, and community involvement for hobbyists of all experience levels — whether you're setting up your very first tank or you've been in the hobby for decades.
As a registered not-for-profit serving Eastern Ontario, TEAS is founded on the belief that knowledge should be shared freely, that aquatic animals deserve responsible and humane care, that conservation begins with education, and that a welcoming community strengthens both the hobby and the people who take part in it.
